Hey! My name is Blake Scherer, and I’m a game developer and designer. I recently graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Columbus College of Art and Design. I've always been passionate about video games; I love the art form, and creativity runs in my family. When I started my college career, I was quickly introduced to the world of digital art and game development, and my passion for both grew from there.
Since then, I’ve honed my focus on video game level design and programming. I’m comfortable with the 3D asset pipeline, including modeling, texturing, and even some rigging. I love watching an idea take shape as it moves through each stage of development. It’s easy to get lost in the details or caught up debugging in whichever software I’m using, but when I step back and see how far it’s come, the feeling is incredibly rewarding.
My biggest inspirations are my peers and the games I play. It’s vital to stay involved in the community I help build, so I play games not only for enjoyment, but also as a way to gain valuable experience that contributes to my growth as a developer. My peers drive me to stay creative, and their success pushes me to be my best. My goal is to inspire others with my art and pay it forward.
